Jay Harris, Executive Vice-President with Premier Commercial Bank in Greensboro, wanted to learn techniques to improve sales, develop more effective management skills and increase productivity. As an added bonus, he helped vaccinate 2,400 children against polio.

“I thought it was brilliant.” said Harris. “What a total win-win!”  Harris added that the event will help him better coach his employees to maximize their performance and will help his own sales performance with the negotiation skills he learned during the training sessions.

Nearly 200 Triad business professionals attended the one-of-a-kind training event on Monday, October 19th.  The energy was high as participants exchanged ideas, integrated new concepts and networked with others.  Their participation will vaccinate 276,845 children from polio.

Sandler Training® presented the day of professional development. They provided training on sales, management and leadership topics pro bono to raise funds for Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate polio.  Triad presidents, business owners, CEO’s, senior managers and sales professionals attended the training day to grow their business and help a great cause.

“When business professionals improve their leadership, management and sales skills, everyone wins!” said Abby Donnelly, partner with Sandler Training, past President of Crescent Rotary and currently Rotary district membership chair. “We have a more effective workforce, better business results, a stronger local economy and we raised over $50,000 to eradicate polio.”

Sandler Systems CEO and best-selling author David Mattson was the keynote speaker.  He presented a compelling program on the importance of developing and implementing a selling system.

Business professionals will have another chance to receive valuable training for a great cause when Sandler Training  partners with Rotary District 7690 for the 2nd Annual “Grow Your Business and Help a Great Cause”.  It is scheduled for Monday, October 18, 2010. The registration fee is only $99 for those who register by November 15, 2009. Register online by visiting  www.training.sandler.com and clicking on ‘Eradicate Polio.’

“It was truly a home run!” said Harris.  “I will definitely be back next year and will be bringing more folks with me.”

Rotary International and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have pledged $555MM to eradicate polio. The final areas afflicted with polio will be the most difficult and expensive to conquer due to geographical isolation and armed conflict (Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria).  When total eradication has been achieved, this will be only the second time in history that a disease has been wiped off the face of the earth.
